Meet Sammi & Kelsey

What started as a fun pastime quickly turned into a small business. One chilly afternoon in the early spring of 2015, looking for something fun and different to do, Kelsey came to me with her great grandmother’s cherished kringla recipe in hand. I’d made kringla (unsuccessfully) before, so I was a little skeptical at first. After Kelsey taught me the proper techniques necessary to make the perfect kringla cookie that she had learned from her grandmother, we shared the final product with family and friends, receiving rave reviews. It soon dawned on us that we could begin a “sidepreneurship” by baking and bringing our treats to the local farmers market. We soon became known around town as “the curly-haired girls with the kringla,” and the rest is history.

Life got pretty chaotic for the both of us for a while, and baking unfortunately had to take the back burner. Kelsey moved to the Waterloo area to be with her now husband, Jared, and put more focus into her photography and design business, 2View Photo and Design. After a brief stint in the Twin Cities region, my husband, Michael and I moved back to the Humboldt area and started our now family of four.

Fast forward about 8 years (wow), and we've both landed back in Dakota City, Iowa, practically sharing a backyard! My kids are excited to have their "Aunt Kelsey" so close (as are we), and we're excited to revive our bakery dreams! We've taken over the Humboldt Farmer's Market committee, and are excited to be bringing that back to the community, as well. We are busier than ever, and excited for what the future holds!

Thank you for taking a moment to read our story. We hope you find our site helpful, and please don’t hesitate to contact us with questions or orders. We are always looking for new ideas and suggestions!
